Food grade benzoic acid is an acidic food preservative; Under acidic conditions, benzoic acid has an inhibitory effect on molds, yeasts and bacteria, but benzoic acid has a weak effect on acid-producing bacteria. The optimal pH for bacteriostasis is 2.5-4.0.
3. Used in the production of plasticizers, fragrances and food preservatives, as well as to improve the performance of alkyd resin coatings.
