Description
Black-eyed cowpea (Vigna uniculata) is a subclass of the white cowpea. Its main characteristics are the slightly rough integument, reniform grain and the well-delineated halo in black. It is also known in Brazil as Boca-preta and known worldwide as Blackeye Bean. It is consumed in all regions of Brazil, as well as Central America, North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania, and is even imported by the Brazilian market. Its size varies between 400 to 450 grains/100 g.
