Description
Cold Box is a punching and molding process where a phenolic resin Part I: CB 1055 and a
Polyisocyanate Part II: CB 2300 or CB 2065, both diluted in aromatic solvents, are mixed with the
sand and cured through amine gassing.
APPLICATION
These Cold Box assemblies have been developed for the production of cores and molds with the highest
quality requirements, for the casting of blocks and cylinder heads, as well as cast iron auto parts, with the following main characteristics:
1. High resistances;
2. High resistance to wet chamber, stabilizing the properties of the stocked cores;
3. Excellent bunker life, allowing the use of mixed sand for a longer time after its
preparation;
4. Anti-sticking: this set is formulated to improve the demolding properties of the
male, i.e., it requires a smaller number of stops for release agent application and cleaning
of the nozzles, which results in an increase in productivity compared to normal resins;
5. Great resistance after painting with water- or alcohol-based paints
