Vitória, November 22, 1968. At this very day, seven different companies were merged to give birth to UNICAFÉ União Exportadora de Café (Coffee Export Union), a 100\% Brazilian company acting on green coffee exportation. After 42 years and over 60 million bags of coffee exported, UNICAFÉ Companhia de Comércio Exterior is today one of the largest companies in the business, not only in Brazil but all over the world, and considered a qualified company for its excellence and tradition.
Officially, UNICAFÉ’s operations started on January 1st, 1969. At that time, the first office was opened in Rio de Janeiro, due to the fact that the government-regulated IBC (Brazilian Coffee Institute) agency was located in that city. UNICAFÉ has its own warehouses, in all coffee-producing regions of Brazil: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Bahia, and Paraná.
UNICAFÉs history is full of conquests, a result of its strength, energy and, first of all, passion for coffee. In this highly competitive market, known for its uncountable difficulties – like weather, geographic factors and foreign exchange fluctuations, only to mention a few – only solid institutions, with competent and qualified staff, can successfully overcome such turbulence. That is why UNICAFÉ is a model to be followed.
